4-H Projects
What are 4-H Projects?
4-H projects are activities for youth to explore topics that interest them and gives them the chance to work with 4-H Leaders to improve their life skills. These projects have a wide range of topics from showing animals to aerospace. Projects are ways for youth to explore and learn through hands-on experience. Youth need support from their families when deciding to partake in a project; however, project leaders are generally available if help is needed. Another great resource to use when learning about a project is project literature. At the end of the 4-H year, most youth enter their projects into the Taylor County Fair to be evaluated and to learn how to improve the following year.
Project Information and Resources
- All past project areas are still part of 4-H; they may be under one of the new project areas. If you don’t see a project that you have signed up for in the past, check the listings at the back of the 4-H Project Guide. You will find a list of past project areas with the new project areas. If you still don’t see what you are looking for, there is a Self-Determined project in each project grouping; you can choose a unique project to explore. Also, those returning to 4-H, here’s a list of past project titles and what you would sign up according to the new Project Guide.
- Here’s another version of the 4-H Project Guide aligned with the Taylor County Fair Entry numbers.
- Project Literature or Curriculum: Project literature is available through the Taylor County Extension Office. When signing up for projects on 4HOnline you can request literature, each member is eligible to have up to six free booklets.
